Caramel sauce

  • 500
    ml
    cream
  • 65
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 125
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 10
    ml
    cornflour
 

Method

 
Heat the cream, golden syrup and castor sugar until the sugar has dissolved. Stir occasionally. Boil for about 15 minutes or until the sauce is a caramel colour. Stir occasionally as the mixture boils over easily. Thicken the sauce with cornflour mixed with a little cold water to form a paste. Add to the sauce and boil again while stirring. Makes 500 ml sauce.
