Caprese braai breads

Tomato, mozzarella and basil make this delicious toastie.

Ingredients

 
  • 6
    pita breads
  • 250
    g
    mozzarella cheese
  • 3
    fresh tomatoes
  • 1
    handful of fresh basil leaves
  • Seasoning
Servings: Change Serving
 
 

Method

 
Grate the cheese and cut the tomatoes into slices.
Cut the pita breads in half lengthways.
Lay the cheese, tomatoes and basil over the 6 halves of the pitas.
Season well.
Close the pitas and braai for 10-15 minutes turning occasionally.
Enjoy immediately!

Carving meat
Always allow your roast to rest for 5 to 15 minutes before carving so that the juices can be reabsorbed and the meat presents an even surface when sliced. Use a short- or long-bladed knife, and a two-pronged carving fork with a guard. To prevent the meat from losing juice, steady it with the flat of the fork, rather than piercing.
