Camembert topped with cranberry relish

Ingredients (9)

30 ml butter
1 onion — halved, thinly sliced
125 ml cranberries — dried or frozen
5 ml fresh ginger — grated
mixed spice — ground
50 ml brown sugar
15 ml fresh chillies — 573
5 ml vinegar — white wine
1-2 camembert cheese

Method:

Heat the butter and sauté the onion slowly for 8-10 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients, except the Camembert, together with about 50ml water.

Simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes. Add more water if necessary. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.

Allow the cheese to reach room temperature and place on a platter. Spoon the cranberry relish on top of the cheese. Serve with bread.
