Calamari sauce for pasta

Ingredients (13)

30 ml fresh chillies — 573
15 ml butter
1 onion — chopped
2 garlic — cloves, crushed
1 385g can tomatoes
50 g tomato paste
5 ml sugar
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
125 ml wine — dry white
15 ml origanum
2 green pepper — sliced
50 g calamari — steak, cubed
500 g pasta — of your choice

Method:

Heat the oil and butter in a pot over medium heat.
Fry the onion and garlic until soft.
Add
the tin of tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, pepper and white wine
and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the oreganum and
cool slightly.
Process the sauce in a food processor until smooth.
Return the sauce to the pot, add the peppers and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the cubed calamari and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Serve with 500g pasta, cooked according to packet instructions.
