Ingredients (4)

1.00 cabbage — medium
50.00 ml cheese — spread
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
butter

Method:

Level the stalk at the base of the cabbage. Quarter the cabbage, but don’t cut it all the way through. Spread cheese spread in each slit and season with salt and pepper to taste. Dot the slits and outside of the cabbage with butter and wrap tightly in 2 pieces of aluminium foil. Bake at 180 ºC (350 ºF) until the cabbage is tender, about 40-60 minutes depending on the size of the cabbage. Alternatively, cook the cabbage over moderate coals for 90 minutes, or until done.
