    cabbage, grated

    slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 250
    ml
    milk
  • 50
    ml
    butter, melted
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 50
    g
    grated Cheddar cheese
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Soak the bread in the milk, mash it and combine it with the cabbage. Add the butter and eggs, as well as seasoning to taste and mix well. Spoon into a greased casserole and sprinkle the Cheddar cheese on top. Bake for about 30 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
