Ingredients (11)

1.00 cabbage — shredded
oil
4.00 potatoes — cooked, chopped
lemon — juice only
125.00 g salami — sliced and quartered
salt and freshly ground black pepper
25.00 ml butter
25.00 ml flour — cake
250.00 ml milk
5.00 ml mustard — powder
cheddar cheese — grated

Method:

Sauté the cabbage in a little oil till just soft. Add the potatoes and salami and mix. Season with the lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. Spoon the mixture into an ovenproof dish.
Prepare a white sauce:
Melt the butter and stir in the cake flour. Slowly stir in the milk till smooth and heat till the mixture comes to the boil and thickens. Stir continuously. Season with mustard powder, salt and pepper to taste. Add a little Cheddar cheese. Pour the white sauce over the cabbage mixture, sprinkle with Cheddar cheese, if desired, and place in a heated oven till the cheese has just melted and the dish is warmed through.
Serve with a salad, if desired.
Serves 4.
