Butterscotch sauce

  • 100
    g
    butter
  • 200
    g
    dark brown sugar
  • 30
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 125
    ml
    cream
 

Method

 
Heat the butter in a saucepan. Add the sugar and golden syrup, and stir over a gentle heat until sugar dissolves.
Stir in the cream and simmer for two minutes.
Remove from heat and serve warm or cold with ice cream, grilled and fried fruit, and other puddings.
