    g
    butter
  • 430
    ml
    yellow sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 250
    ml
    finely chopped nuts of your choice
  • 790
    ml
    cake flour
  • 5
    ml
    baking powder
  • 3
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
 

Method

 
1. Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla essence and chopped nuts. 2. Sieve together flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda. Add to the creamed mixture, mixing into a firm dough. 3. Chill in the refrigerator until the dough is quite hard. 4. Either roll into balls and flatten with a fork or roll out onto a baking sheet and mark out biscuits with a knife. 5. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 ºC for 10 to 15 minutes or until pale golden.
