Bully-beef toasted sandwiches

    onions, finely chopped
  • oil
  • 300
    bully beef
  • 15
  • salt and pepper
  • 12
    slices bread
  • butter


Sauté the onion in a little oil until tender. Add the bully beef and mash. Mix well with the onion and add the chutney. Season with salt and pepper and mix. Butter the bread and place two slices of bread in a sandwich toaster at a time. Spoon a little of the bully-beef filling on six slices of bread and cover with the remaining slices. Toast for a few minutes or until the bread is golden brown on the outside. Remove from the sandwich toaster and repeat with the remaining, sandwiches. Cut into triangles. Serve lukewarm. Makes 24 triangles.
