    bully beef, diced

    hot chutney

    chopped parsley

    mustard powder

    cayenne pepper
  • salt to taste

    Cheddar cheese, diced or grated
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Grease a fairly deep ovenproof dish, 24 cm in diameter. Boil the macaroni in rapidly boiling salted water till just soft. Drain and turn into the prepared dish. Sauté the onion in the butter till soft. Add the cake flour and stir well. Slowly add the milk while stirring continuously and heat till the mixture comes to the boil and thickens. Add the tomato pieces, bully beef, chutney, parsley and seasonings and mix well. Pour over the macaroni and mix. Sprinkle with the cheese and place in the oven till the cheese has melted and the dish is warmed through, about 20 minutes. Serve with a salad. Serves 4- 6.
