Bully beef curry

    bully beef

    oil or butter

    medium-sized onion, sliced into rings
  • 10

    curry powder
  • 375
    ml
    hot water
  • 15
    ml
    grape vinegar
  • 30
    ml
    seedless raisins
  • 1
    green apple, diced
  • 45
    ml
    fruit chutney
  • 7
    ml
    sugar
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 10
    ml
    cornflour, dissolved in a little water
  • 15
    ml
    cream
 

Method

 
Remove the fat from the bully beef. Cut the bully beef into 1 cm squares. Heat the oil and sauté the onion rings until tender. Add the curry powder and fry for another minute. Add the water and vinegar, raisins, diced apple, chutney and sugar, season with salt and pepper, and simmer slowly for 5 minutes. Add the diced bully beef and simmer until heated through. Thicken the sauce with cornflour paste and simmer for 1 minute. Stir in the cream, remove from the stove and serve with rice and vegetables. Serves 4.
