  • coarse salt, seeds or ground pepper
  • bread dough of your choice
  • oil or beaten egg


Prepare bread dough of your choice following recipe for basic white bread or variations of basic white bread. After first rising, knead for 2 minutes, then break off pieces and roll into 25 cm-long, thin sausage shapes. Place well spaced on greased baking trays. Brush with oil or beaten egg, then sprinkle with coarse salt, seeds or ground pepper and allow to rise for 40 minutes or until double in size. Bake at 220 ºC for 10 minutes or until crisp and light brown.
