    canola oil

    onion, chopped

    red pepper, chopped

    green pepper, chopped
  • 1
    red chilli, chopped

    big carrot, coarsely grated
  • 2
    cloves of garlic, minced

    medium curry powder
  • 3
    small tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1
    chicken stock cube
  • 30

    tomato paste
  • 15
    ml
    red wine vinegar (optional)

    ml
    hot chutney
  • 15
    ml
    fresh parsley
  • freshly milled black pepper, to taste
  • 500
    g
    boerewors, braaied
  • pita bread
 

Method

 
In a saucepan, heat oil and sauté onion, peppers, chilli, carrot and garlic for 3 minutes, stirring continuously.

Add curry powder, tomatoes, stock cube, tomato paste, vinegar, chutney.  Continue cooking for another 2 minutes.  Set aside. Heat pita bread according to instructions on the packet.

Split open and fill with chakalaka and boerewors. Serve.
