    strong curry powder

    slice white bread

    beef stock

    green apple

    apricot jam or fruit chutney

    lean beef mince
  • 50

    toasted almond nibs (optional)
  • salt and pepper

    bay leaves

    ml
    milk or sour cream

Method

35 minutes
 
Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté onion until soft.
Add garlic, curry powder and spices and cook for 2 minutes.
Soak the bread in beef stock and mash with a fork. Mix the onion mixture, bread and stock, apple, jam, mince, almonds and seasoning.
Place mince mixture in a greased ovenproof dish, press bay leaves into mince and bake in a preheated oven at 180 ºC for 30 minutes.
Mix milk and eggs. Remove dish from oven and pour the liquid over the top. Bake uncovered for another 5 minutes, or until the egg sets.
Serve with yellow rice and sambals.
