Ingredients (5)

300.00 g sugar
125.00 ml milk
4.00 ml Bicarbonate of soda
250.00 g butter — or hard margarine
600.00 g flour — cake, sifted

Method:

Place sugar, milk and bicarbonate of soda in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, remove from stove and stir in butter until melted. Cool completely, then stir in sifted flour. Mix together until it forms a ball.
Refrigerate for about half an hour. Roll out and cut out desired shapes. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ºC for 10-20 minutes or until golden. (The time will depend on the size and shape of the biscuits.)
