  • 300
    g
    sugar
  • 125
    ml
    milk
  • 4
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 250
    g
    butter or hard margarine
  • 600
    g
    cake flour, sifted
 

Method

10-20 min
 
Place sugar, milk and bicarbonate of soda in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, remove from stove and stir in butter until melted. Cool completely, then stir in sifted flour. Mix together until it forms a ball. Refrigerate for about half an hour. Roll out and cut out desired shapes. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ºC for 10-20 minutes or until golden. (The time will depend on the size and shape of the biscuits.)
