Berry granita

Ingredients

  • 1
    kg
    berries of your choice
  • 250
    g
    sugar
  • a few fresh berries to decorate
 

Method

3 hrs (includes freezing time)
 
Place berries and sugar in a saucepan. Heat until sugar has dissolved.
Place mixture in ice-cube trays and freeze until firm.
Prepare 4 serving glasses by tying a collar of greaseproof paper around the top.
Secure with string or tape.
Remove ice-cube trays from freezer and place ice cubes in a food processor.
Blend for 30 seconds.
Divide mixture between glasses, place them on a baking sheet and place in the freezer until granita is firm and glasses chilled.
Remove from freezer and carefully remove collars.
Decorate with fresh berries.
Use long spoons to eat.
