Beef stroganoff with a difference

    beef strips
  • 15
    ml
    white grape vinegar
  • 15
    ml
    mustard powder
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • oil
  • 2
    large onions, sliced into rings
  • 3
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 250
    g
    fresh mushrooms
  • 250
    ml
    sour cream
  • 70
    g
    tomato paste
  • 65
    ml
    brandy
 

Method

 
Season the beef strips with vinegar and mustard powder and leave for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and brown in a little oil. Remove from the pan and set aside. Fry the onion and garlic in the same pan until tender. Add the mushrooms and stir-fry until lightly browned. Add the meat. Blend the sour cream, tomato paste and brandy and add to the pan. Reduce heat and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce has thickened. Serve with rice or pasta.
