    fresh breadcrumbs

    melted butter

    gherkins

    chopped fresh origanum

    egg, lightly beaten

    beef schnitzel
  • 125
    ml
    instant meat gravy powder
  • 600
    ml
    boiling water
  • 15
    ml
    lemon juice
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 6
    leaves fresh sage
  • 3
    cloves garlic
 

Method

 
STUFFING:
Mix all the ingredients together and form into balls.
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC.
Cut the schnitzels into pieces of about 6 x 12 cm. Place a ball of stuffing on each and roll the meat tightly around it. Tie around the middle of each parcel with string or secure with toothpicks.
Place the beef olives close together in a lightly greased ovenproof dish.
Mix the gravy powder, boiling water, lemon juice, salt and pepper and pour over the beef olives. Cover and cook in the oven for 40 minutes.
Remove string or toothpicks. Fry the sage and garlic in a little butter and sprinkle over the meat before serving.
