    cake flour

    meat stock

    thyme

    frozen vegetables

    margarine

    ml
    prepared mustard

    slices white bread, crusts removed
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 190 ºC (375 ºF). Spray an ovenproof dish with non-stick spray. Sauté; the onion in the butter until tender and add the cubed beef. Stir-fry for about one minute. Stir in the cake flour, add the stock and stir well. Heat until the sauce comes to the boil and thickens. Add the vegetables and season with thyme and paprika. Simmer for a few minutes before turning into an oven dish. Blend the margarine and mustard together. Spread each slice of bread with the mixture and cut in half. Arrange the bread on top of the meat and vegetables and cover with aluminium foil. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Serve with a salad.
