Beef burgers and onion rings

These classic beef burgers are delicious and far healthier than the fast-food variety!

Ingredients (15)

600 g beef mince
2 garlic — cloves, crushed
1 tsp paprika — smoked
2 tsp fresh oregano
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp white pepper
ONION RINGS:
2 onion — sliced
2 cup Buttermilk
100 g flour — self-raising
100 g breadcrumbs
TO SERVE:
3 Tbs mustard
lettuce
2 tomatoes
gherkins — pickled
4 bread — sesame buns, toasted

Method:

In a bowl, mix together beef, garlic, paprika, oreganum, celery salt and pepper. Shape into 4 patties and refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Heat a frying pan with a little oil, cook patties on both sides until done; remove, allow to stand for 5 minutes.

For the onion rings:
Place the sliced onion rings in buttermilk for 10 minutes, drain, toss in flour, then back into buttermilk, then into breadcrumbs. Place gently into hot oil, fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, drain on paper towel. Serve immediately.

To serve:
Fill buns with mustard, lettuce, patties, tomatoes and pickles. Serve with onion rings and chunky french fries.
