    boneless chuck, cubed

    butter
  • 15
    ml
    cooking oil
  • 1
    large onion, sliced
  • 15
    ml
    plain flour
  • 10
    ml
    salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 250
    ml
    meat stock
  • 15
    ml
    wine vinegar
  • 15
    ml
    soya sauce
  • 6
    medium carrots, quartered
  • 3
    leeks, in pieces
  • 3
    medium potatoes, quartered
 

Method

 
1. Brown the meat in heated butter and cooking oil. Add onion rings and sauté until transparent. Sprinkle flour over the meat, stir and season with salt and pepper. 2. Heat the meat stock, vinegar and soya sauce together and add to the meat. Lower the heat, cover with a lid and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until meat is almost tender. Add the remaining vegetables and simmer for an additional 20 to 30 minutes.
