Heat the oil in a large pot.
Brown the beef cubes and garlic.
Sprinkle over the flour and mix well.
Pour in the red wine and stock.
Add the vegetables and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
Serve with crusty bread or noodles.
Replace the beef with ostrich or lamb, or if you would prefer a vegetarian dish, replace the meat with potatoes and extra vegetables.
