Ingredients (12)

500.00 g lean beef — thinly sliced and cubed
500.00 ml onion — diced
olive oil
500.00 ml potatoes — diced
500.00 ml carrots — diced
500.00 ml quince — peeled, cored
1.00 Litres water
worchester sauce
30.00 ml lemon juice
250.00 ml green pepper — diced
500.00 ml tomatoes — diced
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste

Method:

1. Brown the meat and onions in olive oil then reduce heat and add the diced potato, carrots and quince and stir-fry for a few minutes before adding the water, sauce and lemon juice.
2. Allow to simmer for about 15 minutes, then add the remaining vegetables. Simmer for a further 15 to 20 minutes until tender. Taste for seasoning, adding more water if necessary. Serve with brown rice and green beans or peas.
