Ingredients (13)

1.00 kg rump steak — strips
freshly ground black pepper
15.00 ml oil
60.00 ml margarine
2.00 onions — medium, sliced into rings
250.00 g mushrooms — sliced
45.00 ml flour — cake
250.00 ml water — hot
1.00 stock cube — beef
5.00 ml mustard — powder
1.00 ml nutmeg — ground
125.00 ml cream — fresh
500.00 g noodles — green ribbon

Method:

Season the meat with black pepper to taste. Heat the oil and 15 ml of the margarine in a shallow pan and fry the meat until light brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Add another 15 ml of margarine to the pan and stir-fry the onions until translucent. Remove from the pan and add to the meat. Add another 15 ml margarine to the pan and sauté the mushrooms until brown. Remove from the pan and add to the meat.

Add the remaining margarine to the pan and allow it to melt. Remove the pan from the heat, stir until smooth and return pan to the heat. Heat until the flour is cooked.

Dissolve the beef stock cube in the water and stir the liquid into the flour mixture. Season with mustard and nutmeg and heat until flour mixture thickens and is cooked.

Add the meat mixture and cream to the pan. Stir until the mixture is cooked through. Serve immediately with cooked ribbon noodles.
