Ingredients (11)

15.00 ml oil
1.00 onion — chopped
green pepper — large, cut into strips
2.00 green chilli — deseeded and chopped
2.00 ml turmeric
1.00 ml chilli powder
1.00 tomatoes — peeled, chopped
425.00 g baked beans in tomato sauce
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
250.00 g macaroni — cooked
65.00 ml cheddar cheese — grated

Method:

Heat the oil and sauté the onion, green pepper and chillies until soft. Add the turmeric and chilli powder if using, and stir-fry for another minute.
Add the tomato and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in the beans, mixing well. Simmer slowly until heated through before stirring in the macaroni. Spoon into hot serving plates and sprinkle with cheese.
Serves 6.
