Bean salad

    rashers bacon
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 250

    ham, cut into strips
  • 410

    butter beans, drained
  • 230
    g
    sliced green beans, drained
  • 420

    beans in tomato sauce
  • 125
    ml
    barbecue sauce
  • 60
    ml
    soft brown sugar
  • 10
    ml
    prepared mustard
  • 5
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • few drops Tabasco sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
 

Method

 
Place the bacon in a glass microwave dish. Cover lightly with cling film and microwave for 3-4 minutes on 100 percent power. Stir once during the cooking process. Drain the bacon on paper towelling. Add the onion to the fat in the dish. Microwave for 1 minute on 100 percent power or until the onion is soft. Stir frequently. Add the bacon and the rest of the ingredients to the onion and microwave for 10-12 minutes on 100 percent power or until the dish is heated through. Stir 2-3 times during the cooking process. Serve hot or cold. Serves 4.
