Ingredients (11)

300.00 ml beans — cooked, mashed
300.00 ml breadcrumbs — fresh, brown
3.00 bacon — rashers
1.00 onion — small, chopped
3.00 ml mustard — powder
10.00 ml dried basil
15.00 ml fresh parsley — chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
eggs — beaten
breadcrumbs — for rolling
oil — for frying

Method:

Blend the beans and brown breadcrumbs. Fry the bacon until done and chop finely. Sauté the onion in the fat in the pan until soft. Add to the dry bean mixture along with the chopped bacon. Add all the seasonings and roll the mixture into balls. Roll in the beaten egg and then in the breadcrumbs. Fry the balls in heated oil until brown on the outside. Serve with tomatoes and mashed potatoes.
Makes about 15-20 balls.
