Basic tomato sauce

  • 250
    ml
    sugar
  • 375
    ml
    grape vinegar
  • 115
    g
    tomato paste
  • 10
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 10
    ml
    prepared mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 30
    ml
    cornflour, blended with a little cold water
 

Method

 
Blend all the sauce ingredients and heat until the sugar has dissolved. Boil well and use as described in the accompanying recipes. Makes about 400 ml sauce.
