Basic meatballs

  • 500
    g
    minced beef
  • 1
    cooking apple, cored and shredded
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 2
    ml
    dried thyme
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 160 ºC (325 ºF). Gently combine all the ingredients with a fork. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, freeze in serving portions or arrange on a rack over a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes at 160 ºC (325 ºF). Serve with a sauce of your choice. Makes about 15 fairly small meatballs.
