Basic bun dough

    cake flour
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 100
    g
    sugar
  • 15
    g
    instant yeast
  • 100
    g
    margarine
  • 2
    eggs
  • 200
    ml
    milk
 

Method

 
1. Sift the flour, salt and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Mix in the yeast. Rub margarine into the dry ingredients. Beat eggs and milk to combine and stir into the flour mixture to form a moist dough. 2. Turn out on a floured surface and knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic, adding extra flour if the dough is too sticky. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in a cool place to rise for 6 to 8 hours. Punch dough down, roll, shape and fill as desired. Makes 1 kg.
