390.00 g pie apples — tinned, drained
SAUCE
250.00 ml evaporated milk
200.00 g sugar
5.00 ml vanilla — essence

Method:

Arrange the pie apples in a greased 27 cm pie dish. Prepare the basic baking mixture and spoon over the pie apples. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a testing skewer comes out clean when inserted into the centre of the cake. Prick the tart gently with a thin testing skewer. In the meantime prepare the sauce: Blend the evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla essence in saucepan and heat slowly until the sugar has melted. Boil the mixture for five minutes and pour over the hot tart as soon as it comes out of the oven. Serve as a tart or dessert with cream.
