Barbeque chicken marinade

Try out this American-style braai marinade.

Ingredients

    cup
    tomato sauce (ketchup)
  • 1/4
    cup
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    Tbs
    lemon juice
  • 2
    Tbs
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 2
    Tbs
    honey
  • 2
    Tbs
    brown sugar
  • 1
    tsp
    salt
Servings: Change Serving
 
 

Method

 
Combine the ingredients, pour over a butterflied chicken and marinade for at least 30 minutes (or up to 1 day) before braai-ing.

Tip of the day

 
Carving meat
Always allow your roast to rest for 5 to 15 minutes before carving so that the juices can be reabsorbed and the meat presents an even surface when sliced. Use a short- or long-bladed knife, and a two-pronged carving fork with a guard. To prevent the meat from losing juice, steady it with the flat of the fork, rather than piercing.
