Banana bread with chocolate

    g
    butter
  • 250
    g
    granulated sugar
  • 250
    g
    bananas
  • 3
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 3
    extra-large eggs
  • 300
    g
    self-raising flour
  • pinch salt
  • 3
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 100
    g
    dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
 

Method

 
1. Melt the butter and sugar over low heat until the sugar is partially dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. 2. Peel the bananas and mash. Add vanilla essence. 3. Beat eggs and add to the banana mix. Mix in the melted sugar and butter. 4. Sift the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda and fold into the wet mixture. Fold in the chocolate. 5. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 ºC for about 1 hour.
