Baked onions

  • 4
    large onions
  • 125
    g
    bacon, chopped
  • garlic to taste
  • 65
    ml
    cream
  • 45
    ml
    fresh breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper
 

Method

 
Peel onions, leaving them whole, and boil until just tender. Remove the tops and scoop out the centers of the onions. Chop finely and fry, along with bacon and garlic to taste. Add cream and simmer until the mixture thickens. Add fresh breadcrumbs, season, and spoon into the hollowed-out onions. Bake until lightly browned. Delicious with fresh bread.
