    cake flour

    extra-large egg, lightly beaten

Method

 
Sift flour into a bowl, make a well in centre and add egg, water and salt. Stir well to make a stiff, smooth batter. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes. Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to boil. Cut off bits of dough with a small sharp knife and drop them into gently boiling water. As they cook they will rise to the top (check they aren't sticking). Scoop them up with a slotted spoon and drain on absorbent kitchen paper. When they are all ready, either drop them into sauce surrounding paprika cream chicken (see recipe) or toss them in a little butter and serve in a bowl, with chicken. TOTAL KILOJOULE COUNT: 5 070 kJ (1 210 Cal).
