Asian-style crumbed oysters

    wild or cultivated fresh oysters on the half shell
  • 30
    ml
    rice wine
  • 125
    ml
    brown bread crumbs
  • 15
    ml
    each white and black sesame seeds
  • 1
    fat garlic clove, crushed
  • 2
    finely grated peel of two limes
  • Tabasco sauce and salt to taste
 

Method

 
Preheat grill. Loosen oyster flesh and set aside. Place half a teaspoon of rice wine in the bottom of each shell. Top with oyster. Mix remaining ingredients together. Scatter over oyster and grill until golden. Serve with lime wedges and extra Tabasco.

*Don't confuse rice wine vinegar with rice wine. If you don't have rice wine, use medium-cream sherry instead.
