    basmati rice
  • 25
    g
    butter
  • 15
    ml
    cardomom pods
  • 15
    ml
    mustard seeds
  • 1
    cinnamon stick
  • 5
    ml
    sa;t
  • 500
    ml
    water
 

Method

 
Wash rice. Place butter and spices in a microwaveable dish and microwave on high for 1 minute. Add rice and water and microwave on high for 12 minutes. Leave to stand for a bout 10 minutes until all the water has been absorbed and the rice is soft. Portion and place in freezer bags. Pop into the freezer until needed and reheat in a microwave oven. Serve with vegetable curry or fish biriyani (see recipes).
