Apples and onions with Verjuice

    small red apples, halved
  • 4
    red onions, quartered
  • 2
    cinnamon sticks
  • 3
    Tbs
    butter
  • 1/3
    cup
    Verjuice
  • 1/4
    cup
    orange juice
  • 1/4
    cup
    honey
  • Sea salt and black pepper
  • Sage leaves, to garnish
 

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Place the apples, onions and cinnamon sticks in a deep baking tray. Dot over the butter. In a jug, whisk together the Verjuice, orange juice and honey; pour mixture over the apples and onions. Season.

Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.

Serve garnished with sage leaves.
