    phyllo pastry
  • butter
  • FILLING

    Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 125
    ml
    seedless raisins
  • 125
    ml
    soft brown sugar
  • 80
    ml
    walnuts, chopped
  • 45
    ml
    cinnamon
  • finely grated rind of 1 lemon
 

Method

Preheat the oven to 190 ºC. Grease a large baking sheet with butter or spray with non-stick spray. Spread each sheet of phyllo pastry with melted butter and arrange on top of each other. Spread the top layer with melted butter and sprinkle the apples, raisins, sugar, walnuts, cinnamon and lemon rind on top. Roll up and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes until crisp and pale brown and heated through. Serve lukewarm with cream, if desired.
