Apple pizza with dates

Ingredients

    cake flour
  • 30

    mealie meal
  • 1
    ml
    salt
  • 100

    Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 70

    cold butter, grated
  • ice water
  • TOPPING
  • half a green, red, and yellow pepper, diced
  • little oil
  • 75

    dates, finely chopped
  • 1
    green apple, skinned and diced
  • 125

    rindless bacon slices, rolled up
  • 100

    Mozzarella cheese, sliced
 

Method

+/- 30 min
 
Preheat oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray a 22 cm loose-bottomed tin with non-stick spray. Mix the dry ingredients for the crust and rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add just enough water to form a stiff dough and press the mixture into the prepared tin. Chill. Sauté the diced peppers in a little oil until soft. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towelling. Arrange all the topping ingredients on the crust. Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Remove from the tin and serve. Serves 4.
