Apple and spice biscuits

    1 cup oat bran

    1/2 cup flour
  • 0
    1/2 cup whole-wheat ProNutro
  • 0
    5ml baking powder
  • 0
    1/2 cup Hi-Fibre Bran cereal
  • 0
    1/2 cup sugar
  • 0
    1 apple, finely grated
  • 0
    2ml ground cinnamon
  • 0
    1ml ground cloves
  • 0
    60ml 'lite' margerine
  • 0
    1 egg, beaten


1. Mix all the dry ingredients with grated apple and spices.
2. Rub the margarine into the mixed dry ingredients.
3. Stir in the egg, and mix to a stiff dough.
4. Using a teaspoon in each hand, place a heaped teaspoon of batter at a time on a lightly greased baking sheet and flatten to a round biscuit, or flatten onto a baking tray and cut into squares.
5.Bake at 180° C for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
6.Carefully lift each biscuit off the baking sheet onto a cooling rack using an egg lifter. The biscuits are very soft as they come out of the oven, but become crisp on the outside as they cool.
