    oil
  • 1
    large onion, chopped
  • 1
    each red and green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 5
    ml
    aniseed
  • 375
    ml
    uncooked rice
  • 1
    Litres
    boiling water
  • 7
    ml
    salt
 

Method

 
Heat the oil and stir-fry the onion, peppers and aniseed until the vegetables are tender. Add the rice and stir until covered with the vegetable mixture. Add the boiling water and salt, cover, reduce the heat and simmer until the rice is tender and done. Serves 6.
