    green apples or Beurre Bosch pears

    firm bananas, sliced

    seedless raisins

    castor or light brown sugar

    wholewheat or cake flour

    butter
  • 15
    ml
    castor or light brown sugar
  • 150
    g
    marzipan, grated
  • 45
    ml
    flaked almonds
 

Method

 
Preheat oven to 180 ºC. Wash, core and cut apples into medium-thick slices. Layer in a baking dish with bananas and sprinkle with raisins and sugar. CRUMBLE: Rub flour (if using cake flour, it should be sifted) and butter together until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in sugar, marzipan and almonds. Scatter mixture over fruit and bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve immediately with ice cream, whipped cream or honey-flavoured yoghurt. TOTAL KILOJOULE COUNT: 8 175 kJ (1 955 Cal). A portion: 2 045 kJ (490 Cal).
