Almond dates

    blanched almonds
  • 65
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 20
    g
    butter, melted
  • 15
    ml
    orange juice
  • 1
    orange, grated zest
  • 24
    fresh dates
  • To serve
  • 200
    g
    pistachio nuts
  • sugared rose petals
 

Method

 
Mix almond paste, castor sugar, butter, juice and zest in a bowl until mixture resembles a smooth and sticky dough.
Refrigerate to firm a little.
Roll small oval shapes and stuff into dates.
Sprinkle with pistachio nuts and pile on a serving platter with sugared rose petals.
