Almond apple tart

    ground cinnamon

    brown sugar
  • Crust

    butter

    ml
    brown sugar

    extra-large eggs
  • 225
    ml
    self raising flour
  • 3
    ml
    almond essence
  • 30
    ml
    milk
  • 30
    ml
    flaked almonds
  • icing sugar
 

Method

50-60 min
 
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
Grease a 27 cm ovenproof dish well with butter, or spray with nonstick spray.
Arrange the apple wedges in the prepared dish.
Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar and sprinkle over the apples.
Cream the butter and brown sugar well.
Beat the eggs in well, one at a time.
Add the self-raising flour, almond essence and milk and mix well.
Spoon over the apples and level.
Sprinkle with almond flakes and bake for 50-60 minutes, until risen and golden brown.
Mix the icing sugar with a little water. Drizzle over tart.
Serve cut into squares with a little cream, if desired.
