Your weekend feast - 2 September 2016

Cheesy fritatta, pork meatball pitas, baked Romany Cream puddings and more!

September is here and we're excited! Check out our 12 fresh and vibrant dishes that will make you happy it's Spring.

Time to slowly pack away your oversized hoodies and start walking barefoot around the kitchen. A bright new season is upon us so what better way than to celebrate with a good plateful of food!

Jumping straight in...

We've got pork meatball pitas with miso and tahini yoghurt. (Miso is a fermented soybean paste that provides incredible umami flavours to dishes).

In the quick fix department, there's a lovely harissa chicken and roast vegetable salad. Ideal with a crisp glass of unwooded Chardonnay.

Want to knock your loved ones' socks off? Make this butternut and blue cheese frittata for breakfast or brunch. You won't be sorry.

Got time to bake this weekend? Give some thought to these flourless almond butter cookies. They only require five ingredients. Yes, five!

Most kids love fishcakes! So make your own at home with this easy-peasy recipe.

Trying to be healthy and get into shape for Summer? A protein-packed quinoa, chard and halloumi salad is calling your name. If you're avoiding dairy - we suggest trying it with some lightly fried tempeh.

You are going to fall in love with this dessert - baked Romany Cream puddings with custard (what else?!) and soft berry jelly.

And if you simply cannot help yourself... light that braai!
