Ingredients (12)

2 onion — finely chopped
½ each red and yellow peppers, diced
125 g green beans — steamed and ends chopped
2 tomatoes — finely chopped
125 ml vinegar — white wine
80 ml sugar
5 ml curry powder — mild
410 g baked beans in tomato sauce
410 g red kidney beans — tinned, drained
15 g cornflour — maizena
10 ml water
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method:

Need a delicious side to with your braai? Try this warm bean salad.

1 Mix onions, peppers, green beans,
tomatoes, vinegar, sugar and curry powder in a large microwave-safe bowl.

2 Microwave
the mixture on maximum power for 10 minutes until softened. Stir at least twice
while cooking.

3 Remove from the oven and add the baked
beans with sauce and red kidney beans. Mix the corn flour with the water to form
a thick paste and stir into the bean mixture. Season to taste with salt and
pepper. Microwave again for 2 minutes, uncovered, until the mixture has thickened.

4 Serve
hot as a side dish with braaied meat or any dish of your choice.
