The low carb movement has certainly evolved the way people in South Africa view their eating and nutrition. For all the Food24 low carb recipes click here.

And as much as we like to stick to the “everything in moderation” adage at Food24, we know there a many of you who do follow a low carb lifestyle and so these recipes are for you! Just some simple midweek inspiration to motivate you to change things up if you feel like you’re stuck in a menu rut (we’ve all been there).

Breakfast
These days you can pretty much adapt any breakfast item to be low carb... including - waffles! This recipe's serving suggestion is a caramelised banana and fresh strawberries. Ditch the banana if you're limiting carb intake to a minimum.


Snack
Have you ever tried making fried cauliflower? It's the perfect snack that satisfies any mid-morning hunger pangs. Served with a generous portion of whipped hummus dip. If you aren't eating chickpeas, swap out the hummus with a some thick Greek Yoghurt or flavoured cream cheese.



Lunch/dinner
For a light and veggie driven Spring-time meal, you can't beat courgetti with peas, pancetta and goat's cheese. The best part? It's ready to eat in 20 minutes!


Dessert
Lemon cheesecake is always a hit. It's simple, elegant and has a mouth-puckering moreishness that keeps you coming back for more! Add this low carb version to your Pinterest board stat!
