Ingredients (13)

1.00 onion — medium
750.00 g beef mince
125.00 ml sunflower oil
200.00 g olives — stuffed
200.00 g sweetcorn
250.00 ml tomato purée
10.00 ml Tabasco sauce
10.00 ml salt
75.00 ml water
160.00 g maize meal
2.00 eggs
410.00 g evaporated milk
50.00 g cheese — grated

Method:

Peel and chop the onion. Stir-fry it with the mince in the sunflower oil.

Slice the olives, add the sweetcorn, tomato purée, Tabasco sauce, salt and water and add this to the mince mixture.

Mix well. Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the stove and let the mixture cool.

Stir the mealie meal into the mince. Beat the eggs, add the evaporated milk and stir this into the mixture too. Spoon the mixture into a largish ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with cheese.

Bake the dish for 30 to 40 minutes until done in an oven preheated to 180ºC Cut into squares and serve hot.
